I thought you may be interested in the dressing table.
It is Sammys great great grandmothers!!!
I remember it so well as a child my mother was ill a lot and in
hospital, so my sister and I stayed with grandma and my aunt.
The dressing table I adored and polished it every week ,lovingly.
It originally was a lighter oak ,I think its cherrywood but husb said not!!!
Anyway, I bought it from probate as Iwas attached to it ,
with a matching wardrobe and bed which was a too small double.
So we had it darkened to match the 4 poster (hopefully shown)
The 4 poster came from a castle and is authentic ,it really is
gorgeous.
So this is my bedroom where my daughter lives !!!!
( the dressing table set was removed for when the workmen
were due to decorate) otherwise it looks very pretty usually.

I love the look of four posters, but could never sleep in one for fear of eight legged beasties that might be lodging in the draperies!

My first thought exactly!! I am so scared of spiders. When I moved into this house, my bedroom had a 'coronet' fitting on the ceiling, with curtains and nets draping down from it. It was pulled down the day I moved in as I was not prepared to spend one night with drapes hanging over my head for the monsters to get in and drop down onto me!!
Having said that, your bed is gorgeous, and I would love it (for guests to sleep in, not me!) Is Ria staying with you, or do you mean this is her room when she does stay?
How old is the dressing table? I is soooo pretty:0)

God I had a bad night lol, thinking and imaging spiders,everywhere there was even a lil money type one popped down in Maries room!!!on me ,

re how old the dressing table is --not sure!!!! may have been pre my grandmother, it was just the memories,,, but to be honest not the same now ,,,
